Closed Circuit TV
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), like all electronic technology, continues to undergo radical and rapid advancements. Cameras and lenses are packaged in smaller cases while providing higher-resolution pictures at varying light levels. And signals no longer have to flow down coaxial cable. Today you have a choice between telephone cable, fiber optics, wireless and LAN/WAN, in addition to coax.
Video Tape is being replaced by digital recording technology, making it easier to record, store, distribute and archive high-quality copies of the original image. Digital recording systems can be attached to a network or dialed into from a remote site. This capability allows an authorized person with the proper software and password to remotely administer the system and review recorded images. You can even view live camera images via remote access and have complete control of pan/tilt/zoom cameras.
And it’s not just for security anymore. Consider these applications:

Access Control

Dozens of system usage reports are available including the ability to see the cardholder name, door location and the time of day a cardholder enters or attempts to enter a secured area.
