Staff & Asset Locating

Doctor

Where’s the crash cart?  Has anybody seen a wheelchair?  Is Helen on the floor?

Keeping up with assets and staff in modern health care facilities is a logistical nightmare. As facilities place more emphasis on improving patient care, the distractions of having to drop everything and go searching for an IV pump can prove very frustrating, to say the least.

There is an answer. The Rauland Tracer Locating systems can be used to maintain and track assets and staff personnel throughout the facility in real time. Using Infrared technology, the Tracer system shows the current location, so you don’t have to waste time looking for something. Health care facilities can maximize the utilization of their equipment and minimize additional equipment rentals. Staff members can be located quickly, without disturbing patients or having to wander the halls to find someone.

The Tracer system integrates seamlessly with Rauland’s Responder Nurse Call system network, providing a facility-wide solution with exceptional communications flexibility. If your healthcare facility’s goal is to deliver exceptional quality patient care, give us a call. We can show you how Rauland’s integrated line of health care communications products can play a key role.

Nurse Call

bedCall

Depending on who you talk to in a health care facility, everyone has different requirements for a nurse call system. The Bio-Medical Engineering staff wants reliability, simplified wiring, modular construction, and built-in diagnostics. The Nurse Manager needs capabilities for centralized and decentralized operation, integration with wireless devices and management software. Nursing staff wants a system that is easy to use, flexible, and provides automatic call routing so they can enhance patient care. Oh, and by the way, one that doesn’t disturb any of the patients...

CSI has been working in health care facilities for over a decade. We understand the requirements, and we understand what it takes to work in an active facility. When you combine our experience, with Rauland’s Responder family of health care communication products, you get a pretty powerful result: flexible systems offering state-of-the-art integration with wireless devices, complete programming flexibility, an experienced design, and an installation and service team that knows what it takes to get the job done.

Code Blue

Code Blue

It has a different name at different facilities: Code Blue, Dr. Heart, Code One, etc. Regardless of the name, though, code alarms in a health care facility are, quite literally, a life-and-death situation. With over a decade of experience working in hospitals and health care facilities, CSI understands the importance of code alarms and, most importantly, how to use technology and system enhancements to help facilities deal with these situations.
From centralized code alarm systems to integration with wireless devices, CSI knows how to work with your administration and staff to develop code alarm systems that provide you with instant notification—wherever and whenever you need it.

Healthcare Testimonials

Little girl

“We have had a working relationship with Communications Specialists for over 11 years. During this time, they installed 13 nurse call systems, facility-wide paging systems, complete PA systems in our meeting areas and a fire alarm system. To perform an install in a fully operational hospital is difficult, at best. It must be done without shutting down services or relocating patients and staff. CSI’s knowledgeable and professional installation staff was able to complete installations with a minimum of inconvenience to the facility.” -Shawn M. Duncan, Chief Biomedical Technician, Southside Regional Medical Center.

Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Richmond, Virginia

One testament to our capabilities is evident by our involvement with Virginia Commonwealth University Health System’s Critical Care Hospital. Since 2001, CSI has been working continually with VCU Health System on a variety of projects for their existing facilities: Nurse Call System Replacement, Networked Fire Alarm with Advanced Notification Integration, Ascom Wireless integration and other Communication and Integrated Technology Systems throughout the hospital campus.

When the $177 million Critical Care Hospital was designed, VCU Health System senior leadership asked CSI to become a part of the design team as a design/build contractor for Communications and Low Voltage systems. CSI worked with the architects, engineers and staff personnel to design and lay out the new hospital. VCU Health System asked our team to participate, not only because they were comfortable with our capabilities, but because the CSI Healthcare Solutions Group has a proven track record with over 20 years of experience in Healthcare Communications and Workflow Technology.
